Chow Training
- No pain, fear, intimidation, "corrections" or showing-him-who's-alpha rubbish. You have credit cards, a computer, can drive a car, compose poetry and have him executed at your whim. You're dominant, don't worry, no need to feel insecure.
- It's harder to get leverage over chows than over Labs and goldens, but far from impossible. Try pecorino romano, or diced chicken or turkey. I've also had luck with beef jerky, freeze dried liver and those dried chicken strip things. If you find you yearn for a dog with “desire to please” who revolves around you like a little worshipping satellite to your planetary wonderfulness, consider therapy for your narcissistic personality disorder. Under no circumstances get a chow.
- Clicker training and lure-reward both work. Anyone who is excessively partisan here and insists the other one is the work of the devil flunked Animal Learning 101 in college (probably copied off "The Dog Whisperer").
